Technology quickly advanced, allowing runners to reach speeds that would otherwise be unimaginable. The film follows the young Speed Racer ( Emile hirsch), an incredibly talented driver in a futuristic world where the sport of racing has been developed to insane degrees. But despite this, the Wachowskis were able to smuggle in deeper thoughts on how the world is stacked against the lower class while the rich and powerful are able to play by their own rules, a theme that remains the most important aspect.
